Kristen currently works as a travel nurse on crisis assignments for one of the Country's largest travel nursing agencies. Kristen has over 13 years of nursing experience in the specialties of medical-surgical, trauma, emergency, intensive care, and critical care transport and has worked as a bedside nurse, charge nurse, education coordinator, and flight nurse. Kristen is also a freelance Legal Nurse Consultant and expert witness who has testified and consulted on cases nationwide.

Kristen is considered a clinical subject matter expert in emergency nursing and has served as conference faculty for nursing conferences around the Country. Her lectures have also been featured as online webinars with the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). She has been published in the Journal of Emergency Nursing and Critical Care Nurse and serves on the editorial review board of the Air Medical Journal. Kristen was also a Primary Contributing Author for the 8th edition of the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Provider Manual. She is currently serving her third year on the ENA Board of Directors and has served on and chaired committees at the State and National levels. In 2015, Kristen was recognized by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) as Distinguished Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) of the year.

Kristen is the owner of the nursing blog ‘The Trauma Informed Nurse,’ which uses social media to connect nurses from around the Country and provide self-care and mental health resources tailored to the life of shift workers.
