Kara Bauman MN RN CEN CPEN TCRN

Kara Bauman graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1998. She began her nursing career as an Army Nurse in a cardiac telemetry unit at Brooke Army Medical Center, TX. In 2000 Kara was offered the opportunity to train as an emergency nurse and jumped at the chance to care for both adult and (her much loved) pediatric patients. It was a perfect fit! After assignments in Korea and Washington, she got out of the Army and received her Masters in Emergency/Trauma from the University of Washington in 2004. She has served as a staff nurse, charge nurse, preceptor, and educator in hospitals all over (England, North Dakota, Kansas, Colorado, Montana, and Virginia). Kara joined the Solheim Enterprises’ team in 2018 in order to share her passion for education and emergency nursing.

In 2016, Kara was the recipient of the CEN of the Year Award. She has been honored as General Dynamics’ Patient Safety Manager of the Year (2006) and Inova’s Educator of the Year (2016).

Kara, a military spouse, spends much of her free time in the great outdoors: hiking, taking photographs, and watching her three children play their various sports. She is also actively involved in the children’s ministry at her church. Kara acknowledges that she is grumpy in the mornings, but after a single cup of coffee, she is ready to take on the world.
