Amy Gloger MSN RN CCRN CBRN

Amy Gloger first became a nurse in 2011 and joined the Critical Care and Trauma Nurse Internship Program at Parkland in Dallas, TX where she rotated through the Burn ICU, Cardiopulmonary ICU, Medicine ICU, Surgical Trauma ICU, and Emergency Department. After completing her eight-month internship at Parkland, she became a nurse in the Parkland Burn ICU, where her love of caring for adult and pediatric burn patients grew. Amy quickly discovered her passion for teaching and became a regular preceptor in the Burn ICU. After a couple of years of precepting, Amy finished her Masters in Nursing Education and became the Burn Unit Educator at Parkland, where she was able to implement innovative teaching strategies and dive further into the world of burn education. Soon after, Amy joined the American Burn Association (ABA) and became an active member. She has served on both the ABA’s Research and Education committees, taught as an Advanced Burn Life Support instructor, and presented several posters and podium presentations at the ABA’s annual conferences. She has also published in the Journal of Burn Care and Research on nursing documentation of ICU Delirium in burn patients. That’s right- she’s a total nerd! Amy is currently working as the lead critical care educator for a large healthcare system in North Texas and loves breaking down hard topics so others can understand and apply them at the bedside.

Amy loves using humor, anecdotes, accents, and different styles of learning to ensure her audiences not only have an understanding of the content but are also entertained.

When Amy is not teaching, she loves reading, traveling, and snuggling with her fur babies- Louis and Remy. She met her husband- another burn nurse- in the Parkland Burn Unit and they have been happily married for six years.
